Site No 118 - Camping Fuentes Blancas

We first visited this site last year when I wrote :-

“ . . .When we arrived we all - no thats not true - Dicky was undecided, Sue and I took an instant dislike to the place. We don’t know why, the pitches were large and we were able to  tow straight on and on leaving tow straight off our pitch. The staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities were heated, reasonably clean, and the showers had lashings of very hot water whooshing forcefully from the shower head.

Hated it. Hated it. Hated it . . . we will not be returning . . . “

We certainly would not normally have returned having given it that sort of write up but we particularly wanted to see some things in and around Burgos so back we came. The site was more full than when we were last here and all three toilet/shower blocks were open. All three are a little tired but kept reasonably clean and although the nearest one had no hot water the night we arrived the next had hot water aplenty. There is paper, soap and hand drying facilities in all three blocks.

There are washing up and hand laundry facilities at each end of each toilet block and block number one also has laundry facilities (wash - €3) and a chemical toilet emptying point. There is also a swimming pool that is open in the summer months.

WiFi is available throughout the site but we did not use it so I don’t know the cost or how effective it is.

There is a small shop for basics opened on an as needed basis by the barman in the bar/restaurant which is open standard bar opening hours. The bar seemed very popular with the locals. A three course “menu del dis” cost €16.00 (£12.72) and was very acceptable.
